| About the Foundation |

Family and friends established the Ben Kelhoffer Foundation in the fall of 2004 as a way to further remember and celebrate Ben's life. The foundation is organized exclusively for charitable purposes, and works to raise and donate funds to schools in the Greater Cincinnati area and other related charitable organizations.
The memorial golf outing is the major annual event put on by the foundation. Proceeds from the outing benefit Ben's scholarship fund, the Make a Wish Foundation, the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society, and the Children’s Hospital HEM-OC Unit.
Ben's Scholarship Fund Currently, the Ben Kelhoffer Memorial Scholarship is awarded annually to one student at each of the following area Catholic high schools:
What does the BK23 logo mean? The BK in the logo is Ben’s initials, while 23 is the number that many will always associate with Ben (his football jersey number in high school was 23, and his birthday was October 23).
When
was the first memorial golf outing for Ben? In the spring of 1999, friends and family began an annual tradition of playing a round of golf to remember Ben. The summer of 2003 marked the first year a formal golf outing was held to raise money in Ben’ memory. In its first seven years, the outing has raised a total of over $120,000!!!
Is the Ben Kelhoffer Foundation a non-profit organization? The Ben Kelhoffer Foundation is a public charity, which is exempt under section 501(c)(3) of the Internal Revenue Code. Contributions are deductible under section 170 of the Code. The Foundation is qualified to receive tax deductible bequests, devises, transfers, or gifts under section 2055, 2106, or 2522 of the Code.
