With the tragic loss of Fr. Chuck on October 31, 2006 we remember and celebrate the life of a truly great man. Fr. Chuck was an instrumental person in the establishment of the Ben Kelhoffer Foundation. He helped us define and give direction to our overall mission of supporting Catholic education through the Ben Kelhoffer Memorial Scholarship Fund.
More importantly, Fr. Chuck was there for Ben during his life and battle with leukemia. Ben could always count on Fr. Chuck as a spiritual advisor, confidant, and true friend. Day or night, he was at Ben's side whenever needed - including numerous trips to Seattle during Ben's treatment at the Fred Hutchinson Cancer Research Center.
It is hard to put into words the positive impact Fr. Chuck had on Ben, the Kelhoffer family, friends, and the community at large. He was genuine person always looking to help and bring out the best in others. He will truly be missed, but it gives us great hope to know that Fr. Chuck and Ben are watching over us now, together.
